Welcome to Collier Primary School. We are a fast growing ‘school of choice” for the Como Community. Our strong values, inclusive practices and holistic approach to student support ensures we are highly regarded.
We are recognised as a distinctive school, one who continually seeks innovation: to challenge, to grow and to improve practices and programs to suit the learning needs of our students.
We are known as “the country school in the city”, we are well resourced, inclusive, welcoming, engaging and supportive. Commencing in 2020, I have been fortunate to be a part of the amazing parent community who are positive, open, enthusiastic and demonstrate the values you would see in a country school. There are so many opportunities for parents to be involved and active in their child’s education, to join and be an active member of a welcoming school community. I consider myself lucky to be leading such an amazing school.
We promote high-quality teaching and learning, prioritising the health and wellbeing of students and staff, attracting and retaining quality staff, providing assistance to students with disabilities, and fostering the success of Aboriginal students within their own cultural context.
Our Collier Kids are happy kids, and happy kids learn best. We develop and maintain strong working relationships with parents, carers, teachers, education assistants, external agencies and local businesses to ensure we provide the best learning environment possible.
Our school oval, tennis courts, basketball court and playground are open to the community to use each afternoon and on weekends. We are the ‘hub’ of the Como community, and we embrace and encourage that. If you haven’t been for a visit, pop in on a weekend, take a walk around, bring a picnic blanket, sit under a tree and take in the beautiful grounds.
